Taylor Wessing makes up 10 worldwide in Europe-heavy promotions round

Taylor Wessing has promoted 10 lawyers to partnership, making up just one lawyer in its City office.

The firm revealed its promotions late last year after a delay in collating the information with Taylor Wessing’s other international offices.

It has promoted tax lawyer Anna Humphrey to partner in London and all other new partners reside in Continental Europe, bar Hong Kong-based Jennifer Ng.

Going the other way, Osborne Clarke has announced a UK-heavy promotions round, making up five lawyers in the UK and one in Cologne.

The firm revealed that two new lawyers would join the finance sector group, with two working in digital business. There were further promotions in energy and transport.

Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) additionally promoted six lawyers – four in London and two in Hamburg.

The most popular practice area for new promotions was energy, with Rod Chooramun and Nick Walker becoming partners in London.

Osborne Clarke, Taylor Wessing and WFW made up just one female partner each.

Debevoise & Plimpton made up proportionally more women in its latest promotions round, promoting three out of seven.

Ramya Tiller and Sue Meng have joined the US firm’s partnership in New York, while Jane Shvets is Debevoise’s sole City promotion.

Last year, Debevoise made up two lawyers to its partnership in London.
