Dechert continues to expand in Asia, having hired a corporate partner in Singapore.

Siew Kam Boon joined the firm from K&L Gates, where she was a partner specializing in cross-border mergers and acquisitions. She has acted for private equity firms, including Baring Private Equity Asia and Sequoia Capital, and for corporate clients, such as Microsoft Corp. and Sony Music Entertainment.

Boon joined K&L Gates in January 2014 from O’Melveny & Myers , where she was of counsel. She practiced with White & Case and Allen & Gledhill earlier in her career.

The move reunites Boon with her former O’Melveny colleague Dean Collins, who left the Los Angeles-based firm a few months after Boon to launch Dechert’s Singapore office . She is the office’s third partner. In addition to Collins, who is a private funds specialist, international arbitration specialist Mark Mangan is also a partner in Singapore, having joined Dechert in 2015 from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was of counsel in Singapore.

Dechert has made a spate of lateral hires in Asia so far this year. In Hong Kong, it has hired funds partner Michael Wong from K&L Gates, corporate partner Stephen Chan from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and energy partner Xiao Yong from Vinson & Elkins.
