Taylor Wessing global revenue hits high of £270m

Taylor Wessing has posted a modest rise in UK turnover amid a 6 per cent increase in global revenue.

The firm has reported single-digit growth in its UK arm for five consecutive years, last posting double-digit growth in 2011/12 when turnover smashed through the £100m mark.

In the 2016/17 financial year, Taylor Wessing’s UK revenue rose just 2 per cent from £126.6m to £128.9m.

Globally the firm enjoyed greater gains, with revenue jumping 6 per cent from £254.5m to £269.m. Revenue has been calculated at constant exchange rates.

UK managing partner Tim Eyles said: “It has been an exciting year for us and for the sector as a whole; the pace of change is electric. Last year was our best ever, so this year’s result, while less of a headline grabber, is still strong.

“Our priority remains preparing for the challenges and opportunities of the next decade. Investment in our people is central to our strategy and ongoing success.”

This year, Taylor Wessing has seen developments in its international network and announced official associations in Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong.

It also launched RHTLaw Taylor Wessing in Vietnam, which was formed through a merger with PBC Partners.
