CMS launches first global office after UK tripartite merger

CMS has become the latest global firm to open in Monaco, following last year’s launch by Norton Rose Fulbright.

The firm is joining with local firm Pasquier Ciulla & Marquet (PCM) Avocats, which consists of three partners and 12 lawyers.

The team will be able to provide private client and banking advice, as well as M&A, employment and real estate support.

The firm will trade under the name CMS Pasquier Ciulla & Marquet.

CMS joins a small number of international firms with offices in Monaco. Norton Rose Fulbright opened its 54th office in the principality late last year, while Ince & Co opened in the city in 2011. Gowling WLG’s Monaco offices focuses on private client work, and Hill Dickinson also has an office in the city.

The new office is CMS’ 71st worldwide after a series of expansion drives in the last year. In January, three Latin American firms joined the firm’s network, just ahead of its merger with Olswang and Nabarro in May.
