Pinsents lands role on Sydney infrastructure mega-deal

Pinsent Masons has scored a key role advising on Australia’s biggest public transport infrastructure project.

Pinsents partner Anthony Arrow, who joined the firm from Allens in 2016, led on the deal from Melbourne for UK-headquartered construction giant Laing O’Rourke.

Pinsents won a panel spot on the company’s roster for the first time in 2016.

Ashurst is understood to be advising Transport for New South Wales on the Sydney Metro redevelopment project.

Arrow said: “The project is complex and has been procured under a commercial framework which drives collaborative behaviours critical to its success and the success of the overall Sydney Metro program.”

The deal, worth AU$955m (£541m), will involve the upgrade of the Sydney Metro to Central Station and is expected to dramatically improve how Sydney commuters connect between light rail, suburban and inter-city trains, as well as the new Sydney Metro and Sydney buses.
