TMZ encounters RBG at the airport and asks if she would change careers with ‘Judge Judy’

Judith Sheindlin of Judge Judy makes $47 million a year, a fact recently established in a talent agency’s failed legal claim that it wasn’t getting its fair share of the profits from her syndicated television show.

But Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wouldn’t trade places with Sheindlin, according to TMZ, which recently cornered Ginsburg at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.

The interviewer told Ginsburg he loved her workout before asking if she would change careers with Sheindlin if given the opportunity. Ginsburg replied she doesn’t watch Judge Judy.

TMZ tried again. “Would you ever change careers for at least a year with her?” TMZ asked. Ginsburg replied with a simple “No.”

Sheindlin’s salary structure was at issue in the suit filed by Rebel Entertainment Partners against CBS and Big Ticket Television, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The talent agency had argued its profits were wiped out after Sheindlin’s salary doubled about a decade ago.

CBS had argued that Sheindlin’s big salary was needed to keep her on the air, which meant Rebel Entertainment could continue to earn millions of dollars in up-front commissions.

Judge Joanne O’Donnell ruled last week that Rebel Entertainment had presented no evidence that Sheindlin’s salary was negotiated in bad faith of that it was unreasonable.
